What is the Difference Between a Conveyor and a Feeder?
In industrial mixing and material handling, conveyors and feeders serve distinct yet complementary roles. Understanding their differences ensures optimal equipment selection for efficiency and productivity.
Key Functions
Conveyors
- Purpose: Transport bulk materials from one point to another.
- Movement: Continuous, uniform flow.
- Common Types: Belt, screw, roller, and chain conveyors.
- Best For: Long-distance material transfer with minimal control over flow rate.
Feeders
- Purpose: Regulate and control material flow into a process.
- Movement: Controlled, metered discharge.
- Common Types: Vibratory, screw, belt, and apron feeders.
- Best For: Precise dosing, batch mixing, or feeding materials at a set rate.
Key Differences
| Feature | Conveyor | Feeder |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Role | Material transport | Flow regulation |
| Speed Control | Fixed or variable | Highly adjustable |
| Material Handling | Bulk movement | Metered discharge |
| Common Applications | Long-distance transfer | Batch processing, mixing |
Choosing the Right Equipment
- Use a conveyor when moving large quantities over distances without strict flow control.
- Use a feeder when precise material dosing is required, such as in industrial mixers or batching systems.

Chemicals
How is the safety of the equipment ensured?
The equipment is equipped with multiple safety protection measures and meets chemical industry safety standards.
Does the equipment meet environmental standards?
Yes, our equipment meets the environmental standards for the chemical industry, reducing pollutant emissions.
Vacuum Homogneizer
Can you explain the difference between homogenizer mixing tank and agitator mixing tank?
Homogenizer mixer is also called high shear mixer, whose core function is micronization and homogenization. The homogenization process enables the dispersion size in the suspension or emulsion to be micron fine particles by mechanical force of rotor and stator, thereby improving the stability and uniformity of the product.
The agitator mixing tank is just with normal blending function, just mix different materials together, but can’t mix two incompatible liquids together.
Sealed Storage Tank
Is there any handle for easy movement?
Yes, there is handle for each steel tank.
Cosmetic
Can the equipment handle organic or sensitive formulations?
Yes. Our equipment is designed to handle various special formulations, including organic, additive-free, and sensitive formulations, ensuring no contamination or degradation during processing.
